The XS Series high performance RFID metal tags are designed to comply with FDA requirements for Unique Device Identification initiative for medical devices to enable automatic tracking for improved productivity and reduced risks in foreign object debris (FOD), infection control, and product recalls. The Dash XS is 0.48 x 0.12 x 0.09 inches (12.3 x 3 x 2.2 mm) with a read distance of 6.6 feet (2 m). The tag can be mounted directly on metal parts or embedded in metal at the point of manufacture.
XS Series
Xerafy’s XS Series metal tags are the world’s smallest passive UHF EPC Class 1 Gen 2 tags. XS Series tags are ideal for medical device and tool tracking. The XS Series is designed to comply with the most stringent FDA requirements for medical devices and the tags will withstand repeated autoclave sterilization cycles. The extremely low profile and ability of Xerafy’s XS tags to be embedded in metal allows small tools and medical instruments to be RFID-enabled at the point of manufacture.
The Dot XS can be embedded in metal and will withstand repeated autoclave cycles. It is designed to met FDA requirements and is an ideal solution for RFID enabling surgical instruments. The Dot XS is round and measures at 0.24 inches in diameter by 0.1 inches thick with a read distance of 5 feet (1.5 m). The tags are biocompatible to ensure safety in medical applications and have been tested to survive high heat in repeated autoclave cycles and industrial chemical washes that normally complicate the application of RFID devices.
