Pass-AGE-Now! Features Article on XERAFY RFID Embed-in-Metal Technology

Pass Age Now RFID Contactless“Can RFID Work inside Metal?” is a featured article, by XERAFY CEO, Dennis Khoo, recently released in the July/August 2010 issue of PassAGENow.

The article answers many questions surrounding the new embed-in-metal RFID technology from XERAFY that has captured the interest of the military, aviation, automotive and manufacturing industries that have had poor results with RFID in the past.

PassAGENow is an online and printed magazine that features contactless technology and distributed around the world.  The magazine believes the age of contactless has arrived and wants to spread the word about an RFID solution that can be seamlessly and invisibly integrated into metallic products during manufacture. The article states, “With volume production, embedding RFID tag can both cost less than externally-mounted tags and deliver greater value.”

Examples of the applications mentioned that benefit by embedded RFID are numerous and unalike.  A major computer manufacturer embeds RFID into blade servers for data center architecture. Military and law enforcement agencies use the embedded RFID technology for firearm monitoring. As well as the aviation and energy industry are tracking their tools with RFID to prevent items left in airplane engines and power generators.

In summary, the article addresses the benefits as well as the cost and security concerns with embedding RFID at point of manufacture.   The conclusion drawn is that embedding RFID directly into products has substantial benefits that are now available to manufacturers with metallic products, as well as, the end consumer.
